The Pavelhaus a communityproject in Gornja Radgona

Bild zum Beitrag The Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Austria enabled the renovation of this farm house, which was built in 1837 and, from an architectural- historical perspective, should be kept for preservation.

A community project and sign of tolerance, this house of culture is meant to be a meeting place between Slovenia and Austria, between “Štajrern” and Styrians, on the one hand, and a cultural institution for the local, multi- and monolingual ommunity,
on the other.

The multilingual donor of the name, Avgust Pavel (1886-1946) lived up to the principles of a multiple identity, which is prevalent in this region. Pavel was a linguist, folklorist, poet, lecturer at Szeged University, and museum director. His family lived in his house between 1905 and 1927.
